ABOUT THE AUTHOR

 

Chris Hart is a Baltimore-based writer/editor and a graduate of The University of Baltimore's MFA in Creative Writing and Publishing Arts. Useful is his first book. 

 

While he’s been writing for a long time, he’s also delivered refrigerators, hauled U.S. currency (a lot of it) between branches of a small-town bank, packed halibut, salmon and crabs, framed fine art, covered government, police and the arts as a reporter and photographer, managed communications for colleges and universities, driven a truck, painted houses, polished floors in a department store, and substitute taught (first grade and high school).

 

Not in that order, of course.

 

He’s been out of work, too. Which, in the end, is an important part of the lived experience of working – unemployment comes with the job.
